July 8-9th - Noah's Ark Flashlight Safari, Locust Grove, GA - after dark tour of the animal
habitat, bonfire and wiener/marshmallow roast, take a ride on the Habitat Hopper and
feed the pasture animals, feed the Big Cats, and watch the alligators feed. Overnight
camp - bring your tent, sleeping bags,pillows - continental breakfast provided next day.

July 9th - "Mend-a-Heart Grief Counseling" is available through the Atlanta Human
Society for those having to deal with the loss of a beloved pet. Led by a professional
counselor on the second Saturday of each month at the Shelter in the administrative area
at 11:00 a.m. The cost is $5.00 and no appointment is necessary.

July 9-10th - "Atlanta Reptile and Exotic Animal Show" This growing show continues to
delight thousands of guests in one of the nation's largest metro areas, so if you call the
Atlanta area home, head out for the biggest and most exciting reptile show in Georgia!

July 11th- "Dog Days" of Summer with the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia! From
hands-on experience with our adoption animals, to crafts and activities that center around
animal themes, this camp is puuurrrfect for the child that is interested in animals
Campers’ ages seven to eleven are welcome to join us from 9A.M. to 3P.M. Registration
fee is $150 per camper. Space is limited for these exciting camps! For further

July 16th - AARF Pet Central Grand Opening! At 9:00 a.m., we will take a huge step in
our fight to end pet overpopulation with the opening of AARF Pet Central. We hope to
provide a community resource for all of Atlanta's pet owners, and we invite you to join us

July 16th - 2nd Annual Puppy Pool Party to benefit the Homeless Pets Foundation. 4201

July 21st - 2nd Annual Surf & Tails Wine Tasting hosted by Sweetwater Package Store
Proceeds Benefit Gwinnett Humane Society. From 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the Purple
Rain Restaurant. 3550 Mall Boulevard NW, Duluth.  Admission: $20 with reservation, $25
at the door. Sample wines,  tapas, door prizes, Silent Auction.

July 21st  - Disaster Preparedness Event and Fundraiser from 6:30 to 8:30 at Cat Clinic
of Cobb. Collecting unopened bags and cans of pet foods as well as cash donations for
Daffy's Pet Soup Kitchen. Daffy's does heroic work providing food for pets that are
victims of natural disasters and homelessness. Mini-seminars on Disaster Preparedness
for Pets, providing answers to those scary questions....What if you didn't return home
today? What if you had to evacuate your home in an emergency? What if you were unable
to leave your home for several days or weeks?Join us for some fun, some food, and
some fund raising for the kitties.

interested in adopting or learning more about rabbit care! Our Bunny 101 class covers
everything from apple branches to white vinegar. This is what you need to know to make

for the class covers the cost of handout materials and a healthy treat package for your
bunny. The class will be held at the North Georgia House Rabbit Society Shelter.

July 23rd - Burgers, Barks & Brews!  Come join us for a big doggie play date and cook-
out! Our Burgers, Barks & Brews are held outside in Central Bark. Pawtropolis will
provide burgers, buns, chips and sodas. We'll just ask for a small donation (only if you are
eating). All dog-friendly dogs are invited! Owners must provide proof that all dogs are
current on rabies, dhpp, and bordetella. (Puppies simply need to be up-to-date on what
they are old enough for.)

July 23rd - The Terminus City Ride to End Dog Fighting. First annual charity motorcycle
ride where Georgia bikers rev up to end dog fighting and animal abuse. Proceeds will
benefit several local non-profit animal rescue and advocacy charities. Registration: 10:30
am, at Fraizer’s Harley Davidson in Buford. Ride Commences at 12:00 noon.
Festival/After Party begins at 1:00 pm at the Bone Garden in Atlanta. Enjoy food, drink,
vendors, games and more.

July 26th - Yappy Hour at East Andrews from 6-9pm. It’s that time of year again! Mark
your calendars for Buckhead’s BIGGEST dog lover’s YAPPY HOUR and Splish Splash
Doggy Bash. Grab your furry companion and mingle with other dog lovers on East
Andrews’ Terrace. There is a $5 suggested donation at the door. All donations benefit

August 6th - Sip & Shop Fundraiser! Proceeds from this event will help the German
Shepherd Dog Rescue of GA treat "Maxwell" for his skin and Heartworm issues. Sip on

August 6th -  Cobb Animal Control Adopt-a-Thon at  CCAC, 1060 Al Bishop Drive,
Marietta, GA from 10am-4pm. Thanks to residents' online votes, Cobb County Animal
Control is one of fifty shelters in the nation to compete in the final phase of the ASPCA
$100K Challenge. The focus of this final phase is increasing adoptions at the shelter.
Community involvement is an integral component of this competition, so residents are
encouraged to adopt animals from the Cobb County Animal Control shelter. Vendors,
Food, Animal Rescue Groups, Police K9 Demonstrations, Raffles and so much more!

August 20th - 2011 Big Ten Pub Crawl to Benefit the Homeless Pets Foundation.
Buckhead Village, Check-in at East Andrews from 3-5pm. Bars Involved: East Andrews,
Stout, Churchills, Pool Hall, 5 Paces, Red Door Tavern, Kramers, Dive Bar, Genki, Gypsy

September 4th - 2011 Fall Dive-In Dock Diving Competition at The Canine Ranch. The
Canine Ranch is hosting it's Fall Dock Diving competition on September 4th & 5th.  Over
$1,000 in prizes and trophies awarded for 5 different jump divisions and 2 games.

September 14th - Yappy Hour at East Andrews to benefiting enefiting the Germen

September 25th -  Paws in the Park - Dog Walk, Centennial Park from 12pm - 5pm.
Paws in the Park dog walk and pet expo is a fun-filled day that will feature a walk around
Centennial Olympic Park, canine demonstrations, vendors and entertainment.  Every
dollar of pledge money raised goes directly to the animals at Atlanta Pet Rescue &
Adoption. APRA is a nonprofit, volunteer-based, no-kill shelter dedicated to rescuing,
rehabilitating and adopting homeless dogs and cats into loving homes.

October 1st -  Blessing of the Animals. This yearly event will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 4:
00 p.m. with the actual Blessing of the Animals starting at 4:00. It takes place at the
Gazebo on the square in Fayetteville. The Fayette County Humane Society will also have
dogs available for adoption .

October 1st - Howl-O-Weenie at Brook Run Park in Dunwoody from 10 am - 4 pm. Mark
your calendars, start planning your costumes, practice your dachshund race starts (and
especially finishes!)  Howling Contest, Costume Contests, Bluegrass with Roxie Watson.
Face Kissing Contest, Tail Waggin' Contest, Dachshund Dash Races, Raffles, Artists
and Vendors, Hotdog Lunches, Beer sales, nail trims and so much more! We need

October 2nd - Third Annual Chattapoochee Pet Fest presented by the Duluth Historical
Society. From 10am-5pm on Duluth Town Green. Pet Vendors, Food Vendors,

and cats are welcome.

October 22nd - 7th Annual Bark and Boogie Ball at the Forsyth Conference Center.
Help support animals in need  from 6:00 pm until midnight, at the Lanier Technical
College Forsyth Conference Center in Cumming.  Sponsored by the Humane Society of
Forsyth County No-Kill Shelter, the event features a buffet dinner and open bar, plus
dancing and entertainment provided by Big Band Atlanta and Band X.  The purpose of
this annual event is to raise funds to support the no-kill shelter through Silent and Live
Auctions which include items such as trips to exotic locations, weekend getaways,
jewelry, artwork, home décor/furnishings, themed gift baskets, professional services, pet-
related products/services and more!

October 23 - Boxerstock Music Festival + Dog Park at Jim R. Miller Park. Join us for the
fourth annual Boxerstock, a family and dog friendly music event!  Live music all day,
comedienne Shelly Ryan,  Ask the Training Booth, silent auction, concessions, children’s
activities, dog costume contest, canine agility and obedience demonstrations and much
more!
